Rogers
Jonathan
Rogers graduated Cum Laude from Harvard College in 1971. In 1974,
he graduated Magna Cum Laude from Washington & Lee University
School of Law where he was member of Order of the Coif, a member of the Law Review, and received
the American Jurisprudence Award for Constitutional Law.
He
served as a Federal Law Clerk to the Honorable Ted Dalton and was
an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney in the City of Roanoke. He
also served as an Assistant Federal Public Defender in the Virgin
Islands as well as a law partner in the firm Strickland & Rogers
before becoming a sole practitioner in 1992.
He
has been a trial lawyer for 30 years and specializes in personal
injury, criminal defense, traffic, divorce, custody, employment
law and civil rights law. He is a member of The Virginia State Bar
Association, The Floyd County Bar Association, The Roanoke City
Bar Association, The Virgin Island Bar Association and a permanent
member of The 4th Circuit Judicial Council. Jonathan is also a member
of The Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, The National Association
of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and The Virginia Association of Criminal
Defense Lawyers.
Past
community involvement includes serving on the Board of Trustees
for the June Bug Center in Floyd, VA, Chairmain of the Harvard College
School and Scholarship committee, as well as President of the Greater
Deyrle Neighborhood Center in Roanoke, VA. and a charter member of the Floyd County Rotary Club.
He is currently Chairman of the Board of Blue Ridge Center
for Chinese Medicine and a member of the Floyd County
Chamber of Commerce.
Jonathan resides in Floyd with his wife Jeri, a
professional photographer. Their oldest child, Jennifer, is an honors graduate
from Harvard College and is Vice President, Development, for
the Mayhem Project producing movies in Hollywood. Their
son, Jackson, is a graduate of Washington and Lee
University and is the leader of the band Mind Orchestra 2, a
popular band in the Bay Area of California. Jared, their
youngest son is an executive sous chef at Piccos Restaurant
in Marin County, California.
Paula Willis,
Legal Assistant
Paula joined Jonathan Rogers, P.C. in October 2009. She previously served as legal assistant to attorney Robert Boswell in Floyd and brings many years of experience to the office.
Melissa Sutphin, Paralegal
Melissa joined Jonathan Rogers, P.C. in September 2007. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from New River Valley Community College in 2008 and is a 2003 graduate of Floyd County High School. Melissa lives in Floyd with her son, Trace Lewis. |
